Biography: 

Belgian artist born in 1901, died in 1986. She was a disciple of James Ensor and wife of the Italian painter Bruno Capacci. After the war Suzanne Van Damme was part of the surrealist movement alongside André Breton and Marcel Duchamp. Living in Florence, she turned towards abstract art before developing her own pictural language composed of ideograms.
