Gilbert Swimberghe

Belgian artist born in 1927. Painter, draughtsman, sculptor, silk screen printer and creator of mosaics. He studied at the Academies of Bruges and Saint-Josse-ten-Node. He began working in an expressionist style and later moved towards abstraction. In the 1960s, white reliefs were important in his work. He produced numerous pencil drawings in the 1970s. He participated in various grops, including the « Mesure » group.
