Biography: 

Belgian artist, born in Copenhagen, Denmark, died in Brussels in 2005. During the 1940s, he was part of the surrealist movement and devoted himself to experimental photography. Through the intermediary of Dotrement, he then joined the CoBrA movement, turning both to painting and sculpture. Adept at works of four hands, he created numerous works with colleagues, notably a series of word-collages with Joseph Noiret. He was also Director of the Wavre Académie des Beaux-Arts from 1981 to 1989.
